I made this back in 2003 - at what I thought was the end of the 'mash-up' (ugh) era to be honest - it was on a few Dr Rubberfunk promo CDRs at the time, and then appeared on a couple of Soundly Beaten 12"s in 2004 - but here it is in all it's WAV glory for any Serato types who might want to include it in their Disc Jockey programming :)
The music is an edited version of my instrumental track 'The Cookie' - which was a B-side on my 'Bossa For The Devil' 12".
'The First Cut' was re-issued on Jalapeno Records in July 2012, and is on iTunes in 'Deluxe Edition' format with some previously vinyl only bonus tracks : http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/the-first-cut-deluxe-edition/id535956673

Yeah that Gang Starr is the ishhhh!!! I remember finding this record back in the day and wondering if you were the one who did it or if it was a boot that just blended your beats with that acapellas. :D
