Ruaidhri Mannion (b.1985) is an Irish composer living in London. As a musician he is fascinated by the entrancing and transcendental properties of sound, music and the act of listening. Drawing on wide range of influences, both musical and extra-musical, his work often combines live instruments and electronics to explore concepts of intuition, deep-listening and theatre.

Recent commissions and projects include 'Occupy the Pianos' for two pianos and electronics, commissioned by the Association du Concours Nicati and premiered at the Bern Biennale by the award-winning Francoise-Green piano duo, and a place at the EXPERIMENTALSTUDIO Academy at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, focussing on his work in live electronics. His works have been performed in the Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK at venues such as King's Place, Cadogan Hall, the Sonic Arts Research Centre, National Portrait Gallery and the Konservatorium Bern. His music has been performed by the Mercury Quartet, Linda Hirst, Composers Ensemble, New Perspectives Ensemble, Royal College of Music Rising Stars and released on Nonclassical and Naxos.

Ruaidhri studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Ken Hesketh, graduating with an MMus in Advanced Composition and awarded distinction. He previously read his BMus at Queen's University in Belfast, beginning his composition studies with Piers Hellawell. He has had lessons and masterclasses with Hanspeter Kyburtz, Frederic Rzewski, Simon Holt, Fabio Nieder, Dániel Péter Biró, Detlef Heusinger and Mark-Anthony Turnage. He was selected for PRSF's New Music Incubator project in 2011-2012, collaborating with other leading musicians and culminating in artistic residencies in the UK and Sweden.
