I met her while I was working for the City of Boston. We randomly met once in the Mayor's Office and then a few weeks later bumped into each other in City Hall. We got together for lunch and it didn't take long before I realized that Ms. Portis was more than what meets the eye. As a crusader for women and substance abuse treatment, she knows a thing or two about community and keeping families together. She has dedicated her life to preventing drugs from ruining the futures of thousands of mothers and children in Boston.
