Currently based in Toronto, Rou Jiva stirs a concoction from deep, soulful melodies and groovin’ tech-house, to funky, driving techno with sprinklings of elements from a diverse blend of genres.

Hailing from one of the largest melting pots in the world, he voyaged from India into the land of the 1001 Arabian nights, continuing his sonic journey through jazz, hip-hop, roots reggae, and soul. His first taste of electronic music came at the age of 15; it had a lasting impact and his passion for the art of DJ’ing grew progressively. His influences behind the decks are drawn from his vibrant background – adding to his penchant for funky percussion and ethnic sounds.

From spinning at small, intimate venues to magnetizing larger crowds, Rou Jiva builds his live sets as he teases the melodies and rhythms out of tailored, interwoven layers of organic beats. He aspires to unleash his signature style through his productions over the coming years.
