Need a gift for a gifted musician?
After a youth of music ( hip hop, electro, house, jazz, funk, pop) computers and equipment, Ammer started making his own tracks with trackers and drummachines at the age of 17. in 2000 aside dj-ing he started the Devon-Miles project and soon became live-act resident of the groovefactory parties in Hedon Zwolle. In 2003 he was one of the 5 finalists of the GPNL (grandprice of holland category dance) and performed in more clubs around the country with his drummachines, synths and samplers.
Together with Robin Kampschoer he founded Convoi Exceptionnel around 2008, a collaboration between 2 best friends that found eachother musically and spiritually. This resulted in a label and more live gigs in clubs.
In 2008 Ammer moved to Amsterdam while his own style became even more mature and technically. He rebuilt his own studio and spent more time with real analog equipment. Meanwhile lots of projects started e.g music for short films (Ed Jansens' Lucky Cat Films) and tracks with his dad who is a Jazz musician.
As a result of tinnitus Ammer shifted his workfield from clubs to the studio to seriously focus himself on developing technically and musically. There is so much good stuff on the shelves from over the years that will be thoroughly revised and released. Even more important are the new idea's and projects rolling out.
Currently Ammer is focussing on his new founded hip-hop/electro/house/techno alias; Room of Close Associates. This combines multiple styles and production techniques, where the room stands for studio and associates anyone who dares to collaborate.
Autronic Processor is also involved in this project and takes care of the artwork
Also together with best friend and beatmaker Mantis he started hip hop alias Malle-Dieven (Crazy Crooks) They have put out several mixtapes which have been recieved well and their style of making beats is quite unique in terms of vinyl samples, production techniques and atmosphere.
