Joe Bellingham aka Rolo Tamasi (Shameless / SEA) has been immersed into music since his birth in Seattle, Washington on April 27th of 1985. Growing up with the influence of Disco and 90's Dance Music from his Mother and Classic 60s and 70s era Rock from his Father. He immediately had an appreciation for a wide range of genres and listened to the classics on his Father's old turntable. At a young age, he discovered the sounds of Punk Rock. Soon after, he picked up a bass guitar and started jamming out with who ever was down. Music was what drove him through his youth. Artists like NOFX, Daft Punk, John Coltrane and Underworld forged his musical tastes. Band opportunities came and Rolo's unique style of bass playing was honed. When he discovered the music of King Tubby, Augustus Pablo, and De Facto. It showed him the formulas of classic Dub and he began to produce live Dub with his friends.
Rolo has always had an endless love for Electronic Music. In the late 90s and early 2000s Rolo had his first Rave experiences, but it wasn't until 2007, when Rolo visited Reykjavik, Iceland. Where he had an experience on the dance floor that changed his life forever. The sounds and vibes of Techno took over his soul and from then on he aspired to create that sound. Whither playing Dj gigs or mixing a live set he wanted to experience it all.
In 2009, Rolo decided that his future lay in the local Seattle electronic music community. Being virtually unknown didn't stop Rolo from getting involved. Attending as many shows and clubs as he could in a week, he was determined to get involved. Shortly after, Rolo met Sean Horton aka Nordic Soul (Decibel / SEA) who introduced him to Recess (Shameless / Broken Disco / SEA) and he began promoting for Broken Disco and Decibel Events on the streets of Seattle. From Capital Hill to Pioneer Square, Rolo had discovered a new love in music promotion. It was through promoting that he met Kadeejah Streets (Innerflight / SEA) who inspired him to be a better Dj. When Menami (Shameless / Broken Disco / SEA) met Rolo she saw in him the energy, excitement and ability to get stuff done.
After having his First Dj performance at Esthetic Evolution and proving his worth at Seacamp. In the summer of 2009, Rolo joined the Shameless Family and continues to work for the Seattle music community. Rolo Tamasi has always had an eye out for future forward thinking music and is constantly mixing vinyl and producing cutting edge electronic music.
