Hailing from the rainy city of Vancouver, Canada, rOhmz began his musical journey at age 11 with guitar lessons but quickly moved to the saxophone by 12. Quickly excelling in orchestral and then jazz band, rOhmz played in numerous groups throughout his school days and toured over seas with said bands.
At a young age he was also influenced greatly without really noticing, by his older sister. She would bring home mix tapes and CD's from raves. One of them just so happen to be by DJ Freaky Flow. Upon hearing Freaky Flow's "TITS" he was hooked at the age of 12.
Fast forward to early 2009, fully imersing himself in the music and the scene, rOhmz got himself 2 Tech 1200's, mixer and began to fill his crates with all the DNB vinyl he could get his hands on. With non-stop mixing in his bedroom, rOhmz' future was inevitable.
Shortly after learning the craft that is mixing he decided he wanted to produce his own music, fusing his musical training and mixing skills, producing became rOhmz' first priority. Elegant chords, beautiful progressions and beats with powerful bass lines encompasses what comes out of rOhmz' studio. With a heavy jazz influence rOhmz creates tunes to make you move but also listen at the same time. Focussing on the groove and the melodic space of a track, he sticks to his roots and creates music spanning the entire DNB spectrum and even crossing to other genres.
Now in fall 2013, which will indefinitely be rOhmz' debut year. DNBB (Brazil) will be releasing a 4 track liquid EP in 2014 where you'll hear some amazing jazz infused rollers. Rancid Records (UK) will also be releasing "Sip Pin" on an upcoming EP. There will also be a free EP coming out as well so look out for that. Keep your ears open and your dancing shoes ready as rOhmz is consistently creating new material to create wicked vibes at event he throws down at.
It always was, it always is, and it will always, be about the music
