Inspired by the sweeping orchestral scores from the great films of the 1940s, L.A. Noire's original score was composed by Andrew Hale, songwriter and keyboardist for the band Sade, and the Jazz-Funk band Sweetback, and was recorded in the same Abbey Road Studios that are credited for the innovative recording techniques adopted by The Beatles, and Pink Floyd.

Its like Phelps is the Trumpet and all the other elements are the city and his life. Truly inspirational.

The entire thing sounds very similar to what the Miles Davis Quintet was putting out in 1965-68 (Miles Davis on trumpet; Wayne Shorter on tenor sax; Herbie Hancock on piano; Ron Carter on bass; Tony Williams on drums) with the addition of vibes (which at that time would have been Bobby Hutcherson). The trumpet player sounds more like Freddie Hubbard than Miles Davis in terms of his tone.

@OpiZA: Actually that melody is Freddie Hubbard's "Little Sunflower".

Amazing theme song. Finally great music in a Rockstar game! Almost as good as the stuff from Jeremy Soule... and that is really damn good.

hmmm... this song, though great, is eerily similar to a song entitle 'Pulse/Surreal' written and performed by an experimental black metal band called Lantlôs. I put the game on, both my wife and I sat back on the couch ready to play, theme song came on, we both looked at each other knowingly, as we immediately recognized the song. The chord structures are nearly identical. Check it...

We can recognize Andrew Hale's signature (composer / keyboardist for the band Sade...). Could also sound like Manu Katche's first two albums.
