Isle of Man born, London formed, Melbourne based Robsounds first turned to music production in 2005 after stints playing bass or guitar in a number of bands and years DJing around some of London's dirtiest clubs. His first release, on much-loved Canadian netlabel Tide Pool, was The Rob Sounds EP, which broke servers by notching up over 2,000 downloads. Subsequent releases on Acid Milk Recordings (Green Three) and Bellarine (Seven Months) got the attention of Stu Hirst and Armin Van Buuren respectively and after getting a rinsing from James Holden, Ripperton and Jondi & Spesh, QF736 became Robsounds' first vinyl release on Swiss imprint Audio Invaders, with Ripperton and Undo on remix duties. Robsounds then turned his own hand to remixing after being asked to give his own take on Perc's classic Ice Cream for Kenton, which was subsequently played by Carl Cox on his Kiss FM show. Departing London for Australia, Robsounds wasted little time in signing an EP to Melbourne's legendary EQ Grey Label, with Ligne Rouge instanting finding it's way into the record boxes (or CD cases) of Hernan Cattaneo and James Holden. Further releases followed on Manual Music and Acid Milk, but it was Daso & Pawas' remix of the Room 228, the follow up to QF736 on Audio Invaders, that really started to get people talking. With early support and Kiss FM plays from that man Cattaneo, it further attracted interest from Tresor legend Dave DK, Abyss, Radioslave and Shonky, who gave Robsounds his first play on Triple J when he featured the track on the Mix Up show. After completing some well-recieved remixes for Bellarine, Acid Milk and Dublin-based Aciitone, as well as a new EP for Bellarine, The Robsounds EP dropped on EQ Grey to much aclaim from local and international DJs, getting a heap of plays on Triple J in the process. Rounding off 2008 by finishing an EP for Tide Pool that had been started 18 months earlier, Robsounds regrouped and set up his stall for 2009 - and with releases already slated for a slew of labels, it's set to be a big year...
