These are all recordings I made in 2008 using only a banjo for instrumentation. All the songs are about American history between the years 1830 and 1915.
"Nat Turner" is about American Slave rebellion leader Nat Turner. It is a sing-a-long.
"Down the River" is about a slave sold "down the river" in the antebellum American south.
"Sweet Cornbread" is about an abandoned mother and her children during the Boll weevil infestation of American agricultural during the early 20th century.
"Irish Turman" is about an Irish girl in the mid 19th century who is love with the guy that cleans to public toilets and she has to tell her father about the situation.
