"commie 64" breaks instrumental techno
an oldie but goodie. so named as an allusion to communism (music given away free, must be danced to or go to cyberian gulag), and the C64 sampled drums.
This was done back in the days before I knew squat damn about mastering, compression, or had good audio equipment. This was made on a laptop, with an oberheim matrix 6 as the midi controller, a continent away from my home. I didn't have any fancy DAW software at the time, so what you hear is literally the most data it could pump out.

Wish I still had the software and originals for this track so i could go back and remaster this a bit, duck the bass and give some more presence to the drums and lead. If I knew then what I know now etc. Or even if I had known enough to output every track to wave (and had the disk space to keep up with it, which i didn't) and save it for later mastering. I think I still have the source midi, but hey, maybe with the new Melodyne (if that ever comes out) I can rip it back to shreds and work some magic on it. Only time will tell.
