Adopted in California at the age of one by what has become known as dustbowl refugees from Arkansas, I settled in Bakersfield after having lived in Arizona at Topoc Slew (a fishing and vacationing trailer park community along the Colorado River). Bakersfield was a great place to grow up. As the Buck Owens song says, “I have walked many of these streets” and alleyways by day and night in my young adult life.
I relocated to Boise only 7 years ago because while in Bakersfield is a fine to be from, it has rapidly become more densely populated and polluted. After working here in Boise I immediately recognized I should relocate. The song “Plum Crazy” was inspired by the beauty and splendor of the Boise autumn trees changing color. I am now living in the Boise Hyde Park area. It is obvious to me anyone would love to live here.
