A recording of the winds from just after Hurricane Irene's passing. As you can hear, the summer insects were still going strong, despite the hurricane. I recorded this with my Zoom H4 recorder, using a Rycote wind filter which very effectively removed the low-frequency buffeting so common with wind recordings - the Rycote is a great accessory that all field recordists should have in their toolkits.
