Need a gift for a gifted musician?
Riz MC’s makes sonically innovative and lyrically sharp music. His bold debut album MICroscope bristles with risks, intensity, and intelligence.
His debut album MICroscope (due for release in January 2011) is coupled with a ground-breaking live show that is both interactive and immersive. The recorded album, this ambitious live show, and an award winning website (www.rizmc.com/lab - FWA for innovation in digital design) together create a rich trans-media story world – as well as redefining the possibilities for music release and performance.
His 2006 debut single 'The Post 9/11 Blues' created a frenzy across TV, radio and newsprint, and won him a loyal online following. Since then he has been championed by BBC Radio1 (on the ‘Introducing’ stage at Glastonbury, the Electric Proms, and a Maida Vale session). He has toured the USA, and played shows from Fabric to the Royal Festival Hall with the likes of Massive Attack, Nitin Sawhney, Dizzee Rascal, and Mos Def.
In 2009 he released two singles ‘Radar’ and ‘People Like People’ with global dance innovators Crosstown Rebels, topping the dubstep charts on Dj download portal Beatport, and garnering widespread critical acclaim. Tech-house heavyweights Tiefschwarz then remixed his single Don’t Sleep, for release on the same label.
