Erin Rioux (pronounced ree-yoo) is an electronic psychedelic record producer, performer, and curator based in Brooklyn, NY. His work under his last name merges organic instrumentation and performance with technology, in a rhythmic and cerebral sonic environment.

Coming off a string of SXSW dates in 2013, Rioux released 'Spirit Calling/Miniatures' via Bad Panda Records on April 1st. The two-track release is Rioux's most soulful to date, bringing steel drums and spliced R&B vocals into the mix. His signature tones are still present (reversed guitars, self-made drum samples) but the space and minimalism allows the record to breathe more than past releases 'Come On All You Ghosts' (2012) and 'Everything You Need Is Right Here' (2011).

Always one to keep busy, Rioux is preparing two forthcoming albums, one of which is in collaboration with Trinidadian Astrophysicist and Jazz musician Stephon Alexander. Spurred by a chance encounter over coffee in July 2012, the two formed a unique bond, bringing topics in modern Astrophysics and Cosmology into musical interpretation at Erin's Brooklyn studio. The album, 'Here Comes Now', is due out late 2013 with art direction by Diego Cortez and a guest vocal performance from No Wave legend, Arto Lindsay.

Erin Rioux met a turning point in his life at 13 when he acquired a 4-track Tape Recorder. Ever since, he's never stopped producing—developing a vast body of work along his path from Metro Detroit to Berlin and New York City. Under his given last name, Erin began releasing his music in 2010, much of which derived from studio production projects at NYU. From the beginning Rioux has cast a wide net of influences including Brian Eno, David Byrne, Parliament Funkadelic, and Flying Lotus. His music is the meeting point of opposing forces—avant-garde/pop, analog/digital—carried by what Prefix Mag calls "an embraceable healing power".

In June of 2012, Rioux premiered the debut single "Find The Reason" from 'Come On All You Ghosts'—a 6-song EP of pop-oriented dance tracks made in Berlin. The record was inspired by the city's nightlife and its single would later receive a preliminary Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Single. It marked Erin's first major step into the public eye, having made 'Everything You Need Is Right Here' "really for [his] own growth and enjoyment" (— Rioux). Still an obscure audiovisual epic, the album is cherished by the 500 Kickstarter patrons who purchased its limited run of Vinyl LPs and DVDs.

Upon graduating in Spring 2012, Rioux launched his monthly party series, CONNECT: Explorations In Electronic Psychedelia. After moving between NYC clubs Le Poisson Rouge and 285 Kent, the multimedia nightlife experiment established its ongoing residency at Ran Tea House, which accommodates sculpture and video installations in addition to musicians selected by Erin. In an interview with The Creator's Project, Rioux's drive and optimism are best explained: "we’re not victims of a changing industry, but rather the ones who get to change it."
