On Nilsson is available March 13th, 2012 on Crossbill Records: http://crossbillrecords.com/

After being asked to perform for a Harry Nilsson tribute night, Brass Bed and long standing art director/collaborator Allison Bohl, decided to record their take on Harry's classics: "One," "He Needs Me," "He's Large" and "Don't Forget Me." On Nilsson is no mere tribute record though, the band imbues each of the four songs with their trademark pop schizophrenia wherein songs can swing wildly from excited pop to a mood that's akin to the most lonesome paranoia, but then again maybe it's that Bohl's voice is near perfect conjuring of Shelly Duvall's vocals from Popeye.

This EP follows their highly acclaimed album, Melt White, which won fans at Vanity Fair, CMJ, and beyond. Fans fell hard for the album's pop hooks awash in distorted keyboards. With high profile slots opening for Shearwater, Givers and Smiths Western, their high energy live shows became the stuff of legend. The band took most of the summer of 2011 off working on honing their sound so that everything they put to tape was capable of being pulled off live.

When asked why, frontman Christiaan Mader stated that, "Nilsson is a gifted songwriter still overshadowed by his famous friends. His work hearkens back, in the best ways, to a time when the song itself was the prize. So it bears revisiting with new ideas for production." Out March 13th on California's Crossbill Records, On Nilsson shows a band transitioning away from standard pop songs and delving into the darker depths of songwriting and sets the stage for the release of their third and finest LP to date, The Secret Will Keep You, in late 2012!
