DjCrio got his influence by going out every Friday night for the Buzz Life Production events at Nation, and The Edge Night Club in good ole SE, D.C. Being part of the deep roots in the thriving dance scene in the NOVA, DC, and MD areas allowed him to build the upmost respect for the art, curiosity of the continuous mixing that moved so many, and inspired him to perfect his liquid pop. The memories from those “old school” days continue to push him currently by inspiring him to dedicate more time to his EDM production and the art of mixing vinyl.
His first wax on felt experience was in 2000, still just a fan of the turntablism culture; he modestly confined the train wrecks to the bedroom. After learning the turntablism art, the young aspiring DJ decided to attend an outdoor event in West Virginia. After watching the D’n’B MC for a good portion of the night he finally got enough moxy to ask him for a chance on the mic. After him instantly demanding the crowd’s attention, an immediate professional relationship began between himself and Lorenzo aka MC Energy. Who was a well-known promoter, and MC for Runnin Riddum Recordings (R3) based out of the Cincinnati Café in Reston, VA. In the following year DjCrio became a resident MC with R3, and performed many shows alongside MC Energy in Center City Philly and surrounding areas; together they hosted hostile underground D'n'B parties. One of the most recognized performances by the dynamic duo was at a Buzz event with A-sides, a definite heavyweight producer/DJ based out of the UK. Still to this day, DjCrio carries his mic with him to any event ready to get the crowd involved. With every chance he gets he delivers high octane freestyles with a true junglists swagger that just adds more deep lyrical content to his rhymes. After about seven years of learning how to juggle being the lead singer of a hard rock band, produce his first tracks of EDM and occasional MC appearances; DjCrio is now working on being a D'n'B Producer and DJ.
In late 2009 Fringe came together and started unleashing there amazing tag sets onto the NOVA, DC, and MD scene. By the time 2010 came they completely shocked the other established locals with their hard hitting "NeuroTechJungleFunkStep" style. Crio & Phadyn have the most energetic stage presence throughout their entire performance. No matter if the crowd consists of 10 or 750 bassheads, they’re going to go H.A.M. for the love of music. After playing a few proper venues like Studio One in PA, Shorty's Bar in Baltimore, and the Paradox; Crio & Phadyn both decided that something was missing. During one of their normal rehearsals, DjCrio’s brother Nolan came through to sit in on the session. At some point during their set DjCrio handed Nolan the mic and after just 16 bars of a true East Coast Hip-Hop flow; Nolan officially became known as Thinkbox MC, the missing link to Fringe. After the three intertwined with their fierce junglists style, their delivery was then flawless and Fringe was complete. The trio continues to bring new elements to every performance, upping the ante for the other locals. Presently DjCrio is on a grind to pump out as many quality tunes before the end of the year. Each tract he completes he immediately incorporates them into his live sets. He is considered to be a heavyweight D'n'B artist in the area simply because of his fast rise through the ranks. He has a unique approach towards NeuroFunk, which includes ambient intros, soulful synth lines, and face smashing amen breaks. The mind bending Reese synths that flow seamlessly with his crushing Sub bass will leave you wanting more from DjCrio; He is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
