About
It all began in Africa… Well not for Rick. For him, it all began in Panama. It was 1991 and the first truly electronic music that changed his life was Enigma’s “Mea Culpa”. From that moment forward, he dove head first into EDM and has not looked back. In ’94, Rick exited the Army and immediately found the club scene, his Panacea.
In his youth Rick was that train spotter kid that constantly harassed the DJ. Asking questions like, “Hey DJ, what’s that track?”; “How’d you do that?”; “Can I hang out in the DJ booth?” It was inevitable for Rick to start mixing vinyl. His first attempt was a disaster but it is a fond memory.
He began just like everyone else did, in a bedroom. It was 1996 and the first two songs he wrecked were DJ Icey's "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8" and John Debo's "Uh, Yea." His ears suffered greatly that day (and for months to follow) from all the freight trains he crashed. But he never gave up.
Rick’s influences include Rabbit in the Moon, Future Sounds of London, Kaskade, DJ Icey, Sharaz, Deep Dish, Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Meat Katie, Elite Force... the list goes on and on. There are many great EDM producers out there. Rick’s diverse cross genre mixing style reflects his range and appreciation for quality music.
