Pioneering and award winning Welsh DJ. Widely regarded along with his V2 Crew collective as the first people to bring and develop the then fledgling UK Garage sound into Wales during the mid to late nineties. HIs reputation grew not only as a deejay, but also as club promoter and pirate radio DJ as one of the founders of Wales' legendary weekly garage club night Pure Essence @ The Palace in Swansea and Energy / Garage FM, which broadcast from 98 - 02 between Cardiff and Swansea, building a legion of loyal listeners.
Richie was one of the founder presenters and part of the original line up on 1Xtra BBC, the UK's first national digital radio station, when it launched back in August 2002. He presented the station's weekly flagship garage show 'The Blueprint' for five years, which featured a who's who of the diverse UKG scene at the time, such as Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, MJ Cole, Todd Edwards, Tuff Jam, Kano, Tinchy Strider, Roll Deep, Lady Sovereign and many more.
Since his departure from the station in 2007, Richie felt time was right for a change in direction. After doing so much for the UKG scene from it's inception, his focus turned to house, in particular the Jackin' Chicago styled house, which immediately appealed to his taste in feel good funky music. Playing music became a pleasure once again, with Richie being a weekly contributor to rising internet station Chicago House FM from 2008 - 2009. After a hiatus throughout part of 2009, Richie is back on it hard for 2010, developing a new monthly podcast and working on his club brand, both under the CASA FIESTA umbrella. The podcast will deliver the names behind the music that his passion follows and will give an insight to the world of the producers and artists. He'll also be unleashing the second release on his label Good ViBRATION Music which will be Bryan Jones & Tommy Largo's - Steet Credit (with remixes from Johsua Heath and Real Time Hand Motion) very soon. He's also on the look out for fresh material for the label so feel free to drop your demos into the 'drop box' for Richie's attention.
