Good lord, this took a while.
No bass, not perfect, but I'm kinda happy with it. Written for my band.
Let me know what you think!

@LeVoix: The guitar is me, the drums are programmed. Our actual drummer can play all this stuff verbatim, but we have yet to get into an actual studio. Hopefully sometime soon we'll be releasing an EP :)
Thanks for the feedback!

Don't listen to much metal these days, but this shit is thematic, progressive and dirty. Everything is nice and tight. Please tell me this is an actual recording?

your guitar riffage is interesting and a lot of fun to listen to, though as others have indicated i would suggest continuing to work on the process of mastering/mixing; certain points come off as a touch overdriven, though it is nothing severe. with some adjustments you could have something really great on your hands!!

@Snarkleberry: Actually, I'm using a 6. It's an Ibanez JS1200CA w/ EMG 81/85 active pickups. I play in drop A#

@richaadeb: you're using a 7 string right? what model?

@Snarkleberry: And that was pretty much my exact aim while writing, thank you. I'm in the process of getting a solid band together (including vocals) and recording mastered versions of this track and several others, perhaps for an EP :)

Dude this is really sick. It almost reminds of Btbam but heavier and more focused on heavier melodic stuff. If this was a little more fine tuned I would definitely purchase something like this.

@KSCIAA: Thanks mate, this is kinda sorta a little WIP page, and I'll hopefully be getting some proper production done on real tracks in the future. Thanks for the feedback!

All in all, good track, I liked your riffs, but I was kind of wishing for the mix to be better throughout. But great, besides that. :)

Pretty intense, but it gets pretty muddy around here - experiment a bit with panning and EQing. Also, the kick is a bit too much in the foreground.

@Creature - Ooze: Haha, thanks! To be fair, I can only sort of play the drums like this IRL.

@IIIVII: Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to fix the mix here. And yeah, currently seeking a vocalist :)

Very dynamic. Also, I have a fair amount of respect for anyone able to competently play all the roles required to get a piece of music to this point.

The mix here sounds a bit off (or maybe its my speakers) The kicks sound way too loud compared to snare/hats. Other than that pretty good job, vocals would really make this.

@richaadeb: I've never heard of Reaper, will have to check it out. I use a mix of Audacity & Pro Tools, recording through a cheap interface. Just looking to get some better quality. Looking forward to hearing some more tracks! Take it easy.

@This Far Down South: I use Pod Farm 2.5 for the guitar amp emulation, and the UX-1 for the direct input to my computer. I program the drums using EZDrummer and the Metalheads kit, I'll hopefully be getting superior drummer 2 soon instead. I use Massive for minimal background effects, and I record and mix everything in Reaper.
Getting a decent metal tone in Pod Farm takes a VERY long time, so hopefully I'll be getting a better program in that aspect soon as well. Thanks for the feedback!

@richaadeb: Oh man! This is really good though. How do you record this? And what kind of software are you mixing with?
- richaadeb
richaadeb at 2.33 on October 17, 2012 00:43
@This Far Down South: Indeed! I'm still not the greatest at mixing, as I'm sure you can tell, but it's a learning process.
