A big room, chaos-tribal tool. Very nearly finished (as always!). It`s all about the big warm bass swells with this one.... Tribal Androids, Psychedelic Robots and Neo Shamens throwing a night-time street techno carnival in a neon flecked megalopolis of the distant future is what inspired this...Rich Jones_Cumulo-Nimbus Uploaded by Rich Jones Start following Send a message on November 10, 2009 05:55

nice work, really clean mix. I dig the bass line but for me it could be a little more in the forefront, but that,s just my opinion. cheers brother, look forward to the release
- Rich Jones on November 10, 2009 06:16
@Negredo: cheers for the idea man, thats what i like to hear! Im defintely considering redoing the mix - i just find that sometimes i lose small little artifacts in the mix, that resulted purely from certain parts merging at certain volumes.....but we`ll see. Glad youre diggin tho mate :)
-
@Rich Jones: I hear you. As soon as you change one element the whole thing is affected. It never sounds quite right on SC anyway, at least I notice that for my tracks. The internet streaming quality loses some of the studio sound fo sho. Have fun tinkering!

i will have to listen to this dozens more times to be able to comment, as that first listen just had me gone. feeling light as air and tumbling backwards into bliss. utterly, and i've been moved to say this about your pieces before, but utterly the kind of warm blanket of groove and tones that sees my soul at ease and my mind clear. i will be returning to this often...

@eclip5e: hmmmm, maybe one of the tracks in the mix has it in......I can`t say i`ve noticed it though. I checked the vid, and I know that breakbeat from some other older tracks. It may just be an artifact of those particular tracks being mixed, and the delays over the mix...there`s percussion from the Alex Niggeman remix of '2012', 'Frontstab'loop by JPLS/Ambivalent, JPLS`s remix of ambivalent 'Breathe' looping, and the Minilogue track in the mix, plus various send effects and tempo synced delays. So it could just be an artifact of all that percussive mashing.....but who knows *__*

Everything sounds really great+modern apart from the snare/hand clap Rich. Id try something more subtle+different sounding maybe.
- Rich Jones on August 14, 2009 01:41
@Slim Steve Allen: Cheers for the idea man, but i`m not a fan of the modern clap and snare sound in 'minimal' often. Its usually too flat and compressed. I still like a big unwieldly 'slap' sound :)
- Slim Steve Allen on September 11, 2009 00:46
@Rich Jones: Yeah me too, i've started layering say 3 different snares on top of each other for a unique sound. Use the bottom end from one, mid from another and the top end from a third snare for some snap. And compress and eq to gel them together. Tweak the volume automation option for each snare too, fades and stuff. Bit of a late reply that Rich, soz. Not sure how i missed it before mate.

Another work in progress. Fairly tough tribal tool, quite 2001 with a dash of 09? Am going to add some more elements to this, and probably mix it again yet. More polish to be added yet too....Guess i`m just getting impatient with my lack of SC input lately!! :¬)Rich Jones - Summer Rain (w.i.p) Uploaded by Rich Jones Start following Send a message on August 12, 2009 00:56

A good dancefloor groove is always good obviously, but personally when I'm sat at home I love to be made concentrate on some intricate beat crafting man, which is exactly what this is. No simple shit at all this is MENTAL workout and it hits the spot wonderfully!!

Nearly finished bit of chunky deepness. Ive been sat on this for a few months, so I don`t know why i havent upped it already for some soundcloud 'peer review'. Mainly a tool type track with groove and atmosphere, just meant for dreamy boogieng. Your views appreciated, good or bad :)
ehhehehe :) secondary :P
