ARTIST BIO
The evolution of music continues as Atlanta producer/songwriter/rapper/singer Ric Atari enters the scene and takes center stage with a style unlike any other. Ric transitions between singing and rapping with a smooth versatility. Recognized for his exceptional talent and lyrical ability, Ric’s style combines Pop, Hip-Hop & Electronic Dance elevating all to a new dimension.
When describing his sound, as with all Creators, Atari is hesitant to box himself into one genre. But he does say “If Lady Gaga & Andre 3000 had a baby, and then Prince raised it, that would be very close to my sound”.
A mixtape phenom, in early 2010 Ric recently released “Songs in the Key of Autotune”. The mixtape project included the hit “I Must Be Special”, plus other stand-out tracks such as “Come Back”, “Crashin”, “Sex.Money.Drugs.Music” and “Sweet Nothings” with singer and actress Brandy. Then later in 2010, Atari was featured on Drake’s soundtrack smash “All I Know”.
Now on the horizon is Ric Atari’s next street-album, “AtariMania”. The double-disc will contain 2 full albums, one hip-hop & one pop. Features include Snoop Dogg, Drake, Gucci Mane, The Game, 2 Chainz, Ms. Williams, Young Dro, The Mission District, Playboy Tre, & Sean Falyon to name a few. Slated for a January 1st, 2012 release, Atari is preparing several videos to keep the world very interested leading up to that day.
Dubbed “The Cancer” by an industry executive because of his multi-faceted attack on the entertainment industry, Ric’s drive is propelling him to the forefront as an artist and entrepreneur. He is currently working on his first full-length album “Big Black Electronica God” which is scheduled for release late 2012.
Ric has earned worldwide acclaim and multi-platinum success as a producer/songwriter, collaborating with a wide range of music greats like Usher, Drake, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Lionel Richie, Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls, Jill Scott, 112 and countless others. But now is his time to shine as an artist.
When Ric chose to follow his dreams in the music industry after high school, he assured his mother, a teacher, that she would have platinum plaques hanging on the wall where his college degree would have been. While Ric values the importance of education, he turned down nine college scholarship offers to pursue his passion for music … and he hasn’t looked back. By the way, he kept his promise…his plaques now hang in the living room of his mother’s house.
