Rest Trash Horse is a Chicago based project headed by Caleb D. Manci and his talented friends. It is music from Earth's distant future where humans are no more, having left behind only holographic echoes of themselves to operate their dead technology. A masked cowboy has awakened with no memory of who he is and only a music box as his guide. He roams the desolate country, playing dying songs from their ancient past in order to remind them that they are not real and their experiences are only memories of what was. He calls himself by words repeated to him in his dreams, the phrase that reverberates through his head, that drives him on,"Rest, Trash Horse." 1000 Paper Cranes, the project's first compilation, is about the infinite variations on a single theme.
