refluXxer - Biography
Oliver Amrhein aka refluXxer was born in 1977 as son of a well practiced and highly skilled musician not far away from Frankfurt am Main, Germany. During his early childhood, refluXxer became aware of his true passion, yet: Music. So he learned and played classical piano for several years, later he also started to learn and play the guitar. Growing up in a large family with older brothers contributed to the fact that refluXxer could perceive intensively the sounds of the eighties, yet.
In the middle of the nineties, refluXxer and some friends established an own band playing a style mixture of rock and funk music. Also being a talented singer and songwriter, refluXxer took over the responsibility of being front man. Together with his close friend playing the bass, they also took care for the progress of the project. In the following months - full of regular rehearsals twice a week and steadily progressing in composing own songs - they could manage to play about 10 concerts in the Rhein-Main region. After a certain time they also integrated electronic elements in their music but finally needed to end their activities as unfortunately two out of four band members had to move quite far away.
At this point in time, refluXxer focused on electronic music only after having followed its development and progress since the beginning. In the following years, refluXxer became a strong supporter of techno music and contributed to this by living the spirit of it. Celebrating the sound with his friends and visiting various parties and events, he already started to set up a large contact network. Driven by those impressions, refluXxer quickly became aware of another strong passion inside: Performing as a DJ. Quite soon after this deep insight, he started to design the cornerstones of his distinctive sound and started to steadily improve his skills, based on his talent as musician.
This is the reason why refluXxer emphasizes a high level of sound quality. Besides this, refluXxer represents the attitude that playing music and enjoying it together with other human beings requires certain very sensitive senses of perception, too: Getting to the maximal pleasure and fun with music means sharing this with others – being together as a large family! This reflects very well the nature of refluXxer and ties up to the true spirit of (techno) music, following the Flower Power generation of the sixties fighting for peace, love and harmony.
In 2010 refluXxer prepared for one of his greatest adventures so far: Giving up a stable and well paid job as IT specialist in order to realize his biggest dream – independent professionalism in the music business. Together with a close friend he built up a record label in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (Moonbrown Records). Besides the general management he has also been very active as performing artist on parties and events, also as resident DJ for a local radio station. Unfortunately this collaboration finished in the middle of 2011 because of incompatible positions regarding future work for the label.
Not sticking in deep regrets for this great time, refluXxer decided to continue alone and so he immediately kicked off his own project: 3namics Frankfurt am Main. Since the beginning of this, refluXxer has been working very hard and intensively of 3namics and still is, for sure. 3namics is designed for further professional activity in the music business but so far there have been no public announcements. Due to the fact that refluXxer got back into his previous job in July 2012, it might still take a while until something will be communicated even if everything is prepared, yet. refluXxer is also preparing for the next step, even if time is a rare thing for him: Production of own music.
Since January 2012 refluXxer intensified his international activities for web radios and became resident DJ of Radio107 in Rome, Italy, and Filmari Radio in Trieste, Italy. As first foreign DJ, refluXxer also became resident DJ of the underground radio AdrenalinFM in Lubljana, Slovenia in December 2012. In the same months he agreed to host an own weekly radio show called ‘Subsonic Frequencies’ which is getting broadcasted twice a week, Tuesdays on Radio107 and Thursdays as repetition on AdrenalinFM. refluXxer also invites his friends occasionally to play in his show resp. contributing with guest mixes. By now, any international professional feedback as well as the one of fans and followers is very well. The cooperation with AdrenalinFM had to be stopped in March 2013 after the 10th show but still continues on Radio 107. Furthermore refluXxer supports regularly other radio stations with guest mixes like e.g. Fnoob Radio (UK), InsomniaFM (Romania), GlobalBeats.fm (Germany), CueBase-fm (Germany).
refluXxer is also an ambassador of Frank Rose Children Support Foundation which is taking care for the promotion of sustainable primary education in impoverished African regions.
After no support at all for quite a long time, he is finally getting promoted by a close friend: B.T.B. Blue Tone Boy from London (UK). He is a professional mixing and mastering engineer as well as song writer and producer. Any further professional support would be great, especially regarding any booking and management support in order to free up time for the creative part of refluXxer. Nevertheless he continues living his passion and staying open minded and because of this, any possible professional collaboration as well as cooperation is always very welcome. As head of 3namics Frankfurt, refluXxer takes care for his international network and steadily keeps on expanding and improving it. Main objective for 2013 is playing events and parties all around the world – as a true musician and talented DJ this is for sure the true determination.
