About
Ree has been working on several tracks over the past few of years, developing her musical skills, practicing guitar and drums. Having spent time learning production/recording techniques at Kidd Studios, she is continuing to build on her knowledge and experience on her own and with friends/other artists.
Ree is presently writing/recording new tracks with her new band 'Wolf Like Child' along with drummer Ben (a.k.a. Heavyman) and bassist Eve (originally from Italy who is finding herself at home here in Brighton) http://www.reverbnation.com/wolflikechild ... the first album will be full of lyrical twists about love, life and political/social conciousness.
While continuing to develop her acoustic music, Ree has discovered the world of synthesizers and is also working on Dubstep and Experimental/Electronica/Atmospheric tracks too.
Ree has collaborated with various other artists. Brighton's resident Dubstep DJ: 'INASOUND' produced their first track, 'Runaway' which is online now. Ree wrote the track and lyrical content which then both her and Inasound remixed and added lots of bass. They intend to produce more music together in the near future. You can check out Inasound's music at !nasound
A recent collaboration with Mute Speaker, (also based in Brighton) resulted in a track called 'Green Bean Soup'. Ree wrote the lyrics and performed the vocal. The track features on Mute Speaker's debut LP, 'Smart Bomb' released on his own label: imprint liquid noise records .. Mute Speaker ... Previously, Ree collaborated on a number of tracks (as her alter-ego 'Drumgirl') with 'Heavyman & Edgmonkey' on their project Darkmannaz, producing ambient breakbeat/drum and bass. She also contributed backing vocals to two 'Tractor Countdown' albums 'Shedworks' and 'Dust Diaries'.

Ree entered 'THE PEOPLES MUSIC AWARDS' for 'The Best female solo artist' and the 'TripHop/HipHop/R&B' chart IN 2009 with her track called 'No time to waste'...She made it through to the 2nd round for the 'TRIPHOP/HIPHOP/R&B' category and was chosen by guest judges at The People's Music Awards in 2009 to go through to the 'final round' in the BEST FEMALE SOLO ARTIST genre .. Unfortunately she was not one of the 2 out of 5 artists to win the final round but she received some great feedback from the public and the music industry guest judges...
"This one is a quiet stormer, with reflections of Morcheeba, It's a fantastic track and Ree has taken it to the next level, with this enchanting melodic trip hop inspired track. One of our favourites at TPMA HQ"...(The People's Music Awards - July 2009)
"Haunting trip hop straight out of Brighton, perfect to lay back and immerse yourself in during the wee small hours or on a chilled Sunday afternoon. She is self determined girl is our Ree – or perhaps she's a control freak - having already picked up the guitar, drums and bass, she is now moving into producing skills but it seems her hard work is paying dividends. Influenced by Portishead and Kruder and Dorfmeister, she also writes her own lyrics and has even collaborated with this week's double winner Heavyman - there must be something in the water Brighton"...(The People's Music Awards - August 2009)
