Red Salamanda Records first surfaced in Prague Czech Republic back in late 2002. The debut release in 2003 was from The Second Whorl and they got the remix treatment from prague local boys Zka4t and Dj Tall and from label boss Kid Ringo and pals Awesome Wells. The funky bruk vibes went down well with the likes of Mr Scruff and the Tru Thoughts family. A year passed before the next release.... Boris Carloff served up his 'Good Stuff EP' in June 2004 with the track 'First Joy' featuring twice on GP's Worldwide show, as well as being a firm favourite with many a discerning DJ. Then came the 4 year hiatus ..... cue the tumbleweed as a barren desert of no release, no cashflow continued for a while. Bringing us round to 2008 and a track entitled LIFE from Kid Ringo and Ghetto Priest (On U Sound). Originally released on vinyl in February 2008 its now available on high quality digital download through our store. The release features 4 different mixes including a hot Boris Carloff Remix and a old skool House mix from Kid Ringo. In the pipeline are further download releases from fresh nu homegrown talent and a return for Boris Carloff with a long awaited follow up LP ........So there you have it folks the story so far from the somewhat slow paced life of the Prague based label....Hhhm not much of a story, but we hope that changes soon........its not the quantity some might say ! ....peace the Salamanda
