Violinist and string arranger
I love this marriage of hip hop and orchestral - big future in this I think, as hip-hop is so eclectic and emotional.
Hi Marek, this was done my usual way, tracking up individual instruments and adding sample!
OK - I get it, the track below was a demo, now you have added live bass and brass - tell us about how you did the brass!
Hi Marek, could you tell us a bit about this track please? Did you make it for any particular project? What is live, what is sampled? Ta. It is certainly atmospheric and draws me in to listen to it.
This is a track written to depict the wonder of electricity!
Kitchen-sing final chord - brass, strings, percussion, organ, choir!
This is the coda - the note D is a pedal and various chords work across this to create an evolving harmonic movement, aiming to depict science!
It's all grand and heroic!
Then the full orchestra states a theme - the bubbling harp still provides a contrasting texture.
The legato phrases are punctuated with short rhythmic figures.
The theme is presented with opposite extremes - a single line on violas, contrasted with a full orchestra reply
Dramatic contrast! Dropping down from the full, legato texture of strings to the 'bubbly', light texture of harp figures.
Build up over 20", using notes round a C minor chord (with some suspended 2nd and 4ths to create an 'open' feel). Orchestration simply starts at a low pitch and dynamic and grows.
Oh those strings are pretty dodgy!
