Darren Smith has been a composer, and performer of electronic music for the past 6 years. Under the nom de plume Reality Pixie, Darren has been a regular fixture on the Australian 'doof' circuit.

In 2006 Darren was signed to Australian label, Gi'iwa Productions, and in 2007 was also signed to Russian label Vertigo records.

Having earned a reputation for creating emotional, melodic psychedelic trance, Darren has performed in every state of Australia; at festival such as Rainbow Serpent, Tribeadelic, Earth Frequency, and Cairns Winter Solstice.

In 2008/9 Darren performed internationally with shows in Russia, Ukraine, FInland and Thailand with the highlight being Khan Altay, Solar Eclipse Festival.

More recently Darren has taken a step back from the world of dancefloor music to focus on his new downtempo electronic music project 'mote.'; a collage of ambient, glitchy breakbeats, squelchy melodies, ethnic vibrations and orchestral
oscillations.

Darren is an active member of the Australian ethnobotanic community and was once referenced in Erowid Extracts as Reality Pixie.**

In 2011, Darren completed Bachelor of Music at Queendland University of Technology.
