      @steveparker: well I suppose that it does sound kinda tunnelly or journeyish, but I called it Acid Sky because I think the pads are very airy/skyish - so they're like a relief after the bludgeoning of the main part of the song :D - yeh I made this when I got Phoscyon because I thought it was the first plugin I got that TRULY sounded pretty close to a 303

      @zuur: :) - yeh I was in two minds (as im pretty sick of songs being put in groups they make no sense in) about putting this in the Acid group, but there is definitely enough acid running through this stuff to be included IMO - yeh that riff is so squishy - its lovely :D

      I often thing of big acid drops like this as sounding like thunder or rain smashing down from the sky, I think in this track it REALLY does sound like that (to me anyway :p )

Yeh there is nothing that I own from Rising High which I dislike, including my 'Hard As Fuck' slipmats ;) :D

      wow, this track has some amount of varation in it!! .. lovely stuff. While there is obviously the detroit flavour, its got more of an early 90s UK sound, like R&S / Apollo / Warp , than US. (a good thing in my book! ;)

      @GenericMeds: thx - in this one I did do some really agrgressive HCF cut on the final WAV, I really wanted to make the hi noises (in particular the whistles and the T99 stabs not too be too abrasive), i also used jb_timemachine vst on AKAI S01 setting on all the breakbeats, and UAD plugins in general seem to add roundness to sounds to me

      @Eoin Bishop: no sorry, I actually sampled it from T99 - Anasthasia, not 'Frequency' (though Im pretty sure they are the EXACT same sound, although Frequency has a bit more effects on it). I think the T99 stab is definitely one of the earliest appearances of that noise. I think its an opera stab, distorted to fuck (and obviously low bitrate), chopped hard at start and end... (not sure though tbh). Songs like MNO - God Of Abraham would kinda support that hypotheses also I think.

      @Dj Paco aka Condition: its a sample of Anasthasia - I didnt actually do that much to it, as it takes in so many frequencies that you cant really chop out too much, - I used Flux Bittersweet set to 'Bitter' to make it attack more.

      @stephen roche:I just copied the last LFOy noise from Energy Flash and put it under stuff - I turned it up a bit and had reverb going up to maximum by end of samples - also theres one which is slowed down to half speed and then reversed aswell

      @Alkalino: yeh I love the normal version too, but I was kinda trying to keep a slightly darker/bassier hypnotic feel and I though the piano/strings bit in that version wouldnt sound as good with the rest of the songs

      @rayspark-industries: yeh it definitely is, while I do have nostalgia for Fairy Dust, I always preferred this the roundness of the bass and cool rolling breakbeat and claps over the massive round kicks just got me instantly when I put it on and the really strobelighty feel of the acid squelches - great stuff :D

      @zander: glad you like it man - yeh so many of the early dance music that I was into come from New Beat (pretty much all the second half of this mix), XL Recordings: The Second Chapter just sounded so amazing when I first heard it back then on cassette :D. Yeh i did have a lot of fun making this and I probably will make a more straight early 4/4 ish hardcore and R&S type stuff mix soon.

      @Eugene X: yeh this was originally going into 'ASCENT' you can hear it is ruffly an arpeggiation of the same 4 ascending black keys (see how musical I am :p)/Altern-8 type sequence, I just couldnt get it to sit in it right, and there is already so much going on in the low to mid frequencies in that track, so I left this out, although I really like the sound of it tbh
