So Called Friend was hatched from a giant egg that emerged from the ground in Australia's outback. He was found and raised by a kangaroo that had a part time job rescuing idiot children from wells, and it was from her that he got his amazing ability to stand on his tail and kick people in the nuts.

Things didn't feel quite right though, and after 21 years, So realised that Australia was actally an island surrounded by water, a substance that will burn him upon contact. He therefore crafted an airship out of collectable Neighbours cards and flew with surprising success to Europe, where there was no sun but everyone had better skin. It was here that he shunned a life of cricket, sheilas and Bert Newton and started to program noise on his computer, making beats people could rub against each other to in the techno clubs people seemed to be so fond of.

Upon accidentally putting some of his audio on gay cruising website Myspace, he was discovered and kidnapped by the mayor of Hamburg, who kept him chained in a basement that smelled of wet carpet. Occasionally the mayor would let him out to kick his political enemies in the nuts, and it was on one of these occasions that So escaped, running frantically to the sort-of-bright lights of Hamburg’s red light district. After a few hours therapy and some dry biscuits he realised he had run directly into the arms of his saviours, who felt so sorry for him they decided to keep him as a pet but not in a basement that smelled of wet carpet, no, this time everything would be alright. They still, however, allow him to practice his kicks. He is, after all, very good at that.
