This was recorded in the days leading up to the tensest Halloween in recent memory, when I was listening to old Folkways and Honest Jon's LPs of outernational music and drawing comfort from that place where dead voices gather, my record collection. Of particular note are three songs culled from a mysterious new LP reissue called "I Don't Feel at Home in this World Anymore." The album collects early 78s of music made by first generation American immigrants, when the stew that become our music had yet to cook. For those of you with turntables, I can't recommend this album highly enough.
