RR is a writer and DJ best known as the pop music editor of the Los Angeles Times. He's got two turntables, a dinky Stanton mixer, thousand of records: early and late-period electronic music; ancient Americana; first- and second generation hip hop; Chicago house (Dance Mania, Cajual, and Relief are obsessions); Detroit, Cologne and Berlin techno; deep shelves full of Jamaican rocksteady and roots reggae, dub and reggaeton; mucho giga digi files of rock and jazz; and the long-running Sovereign Glory radio show and podcast. He likes rhythm, basically, and does occasional mixes for dublab.com. He will soon (really) be debuting a monthly club in LA.
