About
Emerging from the depths of Kansas City, USA, Ragga Scum roared onto the Jungle scene in 1999, as SVS, and later reformed in 2006, as Ragga Scum, with his debut hit ‘Another Champion’ together with production partner Direct Feed. His latest album EP, ‘From The Dubplate’ collaborates Ragga Scum’s punishing reece-style bass accompanying remixes alongside Direct Feed, RAW aka 6BLOCC, and DJ K to forge an effot bursting at the seams with sludgy anthems. Amidst standout tracks like ‘Dub Assassin’ and an official remix of DJ Fresh’s European gold hit ‘Gold Dust’, look for Ragga Scum to be a major member in the Ragga Jungle landscape for years to come.
Pushing the boundaries as much as possible, Ragga Scum’s ambition drives him to continue to progress as an artist while supporting labels like his own imprint, Warlord Dubplate, as well as; Congo Natty, Junglexpeditions, Dub Chamber, Hum Fi Drum, Dubpride, and Kings Connect. In 2008 he also joined up with the Konkrete Jungle family as well as his clothing sponsor, Methods NYC, the mighty Knowledge Magazine, and Stateside DNB collective M.I.A.
Whether it is in world class clubs like NYC’s Club Love or Sullivan Room or huge venue’s like Toronto’s Government to local Expo Centers, expect a work out when Ragga Scum fills the floors for dancers around the globe. In the course of this madness, collabs are currently in the works with European Grime sensations, The Thunderclaps, as well as RAW, The Burner Brothers, RCola, Shitmat, and of course Direct Feed. Keep an ear to the ground and stay locked to raggascum.com for new mixes and updates.
