Rage Area is a live dubtronica (electronic reggae) collective from Venice, California.
Their debut EP appropriately entitled, “Venice Dubtronica" recently released includes guest appearances from Junior Marvin (Bob Marley and the Wailers), Laurnea (Arrested Development) and turntablist pioneer DJ Quest. Reggae legend Jim Fox (Rebelution, Israel Vibration, Black Uhuru), stepped in to oversee the mixing and mastering.
Rocking for crowds since 2010, Rage Area has performed alongside notable acts, including Deadmau5, Shiny Toy Guns, and Too $hort. They also headline regularly at Hollywood venues such as The Viper Room, House of Blues and The Whisky A GoGo. A combination of electronic and organic, their show features live percussion over 808 kicks, dubby basslines, and a full horn section. The band takes its cues from Sublime, Outkast, Autechre, Thievery Corporation, Burning Spear, Eek-A-Mouse and more.
