About

I love many kinds of music but my main passion is for progressive, evolving, epic and psychedelic sounds. Although I'm probably best known for my enthusiastic advocacy of Progressive Psybreaks over the past few years, ultimately whether a tune is classified as breaks, techno, trance, house, dnb or chill, is less important than the shapes, textures and feelings it evokes. If you like journeys, take a trip with me...
I've been DJing properly since 2007 on CDJs (after many years spinning vinyl as a hobby), very quickly becoming established on net radio stations and in the South's club scene. I had my first festival gig, ad-hoc on a small stage at Waveform 2009. 2010 saw my London debut in May, and I was booked for Glade Festival until its cancellation at the hands of the anti-fun brigade; by way of compensation I played a 3-hour set at Waveform 2010. In 2011 I finally got to play at Glade and also Bearded Theory festivals. I'm now starting out in production, aiming towards a live festival performance within the next couple of years... just hope there are still some festivals left in the UK to play at!

I host two regular net radio shows:
"Quexotic Adventures" on NSB Radio (http://www.nsbradio.co.uk), first and third Saturdays of the month, from 19:00 UK time.
"Tales Of The Interstitial" on PsyMusic Radio (http://www.psymusic.co.uk), third Tuesday of the month from about 19:30 UK time.
You can get reminders about these alongside gig news etc by joining my Facebook Group and/or Page - just do a Facebook Search for "Quextal". You can also follow me on Twitter.
Full archives and tracklists of all my radio shows, along with occasional promo mixes, are available on http://quextal.com (which has RSS feeds that you can follow).
I'm always looking to support upcoming and unsigned artists on my shows - if you're producing the kind of music you think I'd like, please go ahead and add to my DropBox :)

PRODUCERS: Feel free to add any tracks here that you would like me to either: (a) give you the benefit of my famously honest and forthright feedback, and/or (b) consider it for playing on one of my radio shows. I WILL ASSUME BOTH unless you specify otherwise! DJS: I'm always on the look out for DJs to provide guest mixes for my shows. If you think your style of music is compatible with their ethos, feel free to throw a mix in the dropbox (but please make it DOWNLOADABLE or provide a download link with it, I listen to mixes on my mp3 player on the train, not on Soundcloud!) Cheers!
