Ben's musical journey started when he was a teenager " i've been dj-ing on and off for nearly twenty years now ".
It all began for him after being inspired in the early ninties by dj's like Andrew Wetherall , Terry Francis, Eddie Richards and Clive Henry " Seeing these guys playing cutting edge records of the time to people and the impact they were having, made me realise i wanted to be involed some how , whether it be through dj-ing or production " . So after purchasing his first set of turntables he started honing his dj-ing skills , Ben started playing small parties and clubs, before eventually going on to play bigger clubs in the south west alongside some of the countrys biggest dj's of the time.
Then in his early twenties , he decided to diversify and take a slightly different musical directon in the form of engineering guitar driven bands . After completion of his audio engineering training at London and Liverpools S.A.E Institute, he continued to work in London studios engineering and producing local bands, " It gave me a much better understanding of music and sonics as a whole, as well as really fine tuning my ears ".
In 2000 came a move to Liverpool , where meeting other passionate house music fans, he began venturing back out into clubland and was pleasently surprised at the quality and diversity of the music being played, that coupled with the positive reaction to it from open minded crowds. Ben then landed a year long residencey at a Liverpool bar and is now playing his unique brand of deep/tech house at various parties across the uk, including gigs at Sankeys in manchester, he also occasionally plays guest slots on worldwide internet radio stations and is working on several productions due for release soon. Ben is also currently working on setting up a fresh and exciting regular night in Liverpool along side fellow Dj/producer Pete Moor. Watch this space for details!
