With a musical interest spanning 6 golden years, no wait hang on lets get realistic im writing this in the 3rd, okay here goes...
...utterly bored with the 'anything but sophisticated' nightlife in the west country and having seen the back of the world on the tried and tested 'post university round the world trip', Pte set out to find a little more entertainment and a little more relaity away from the heavily laden male arm and shiny female legs of britians pub scene; The answer came with a visit to superclub (Fabric).
Still recovering from the fabric trip various bouts of clubbing took place up and down the country, after taking part in a 48 hour party at a friends house he discovered the art of inserting tiny plastic disks into a CD player and making them go at the same speed (DJing). Pte secured residencies at various club nights during the year.
Pte booked into Sub-Bass Music academy in london to learn about music production and was impressed by what could be achieved in a relatively short amount of time, always the fast learner and ever the technician he took production under his wing and by the end of the year was steadily producing tracks.
Mid 2009 brought the first commercial success: the signing of his record 'Pwned' to digital label 'Fish Dont Dance'. He Signed his second to Michael Hookers Re:Sound Records. And by the end of the year was pushing out regular releases.
Pte hit new highs with many progressive house releases in 2010 and made a collaboration with super Japanese producer; Takahacid : (YSOD) the finest creation to date the record gained support from progressive DJ's and featured on radio shows and podcasts.
After visiting Thailand and making the pilgrimage to Mushroom mountain Pte's eyed were opened, never having been truly inspired by the sound of progressive and finding the high energy vibe a bit too much he decided to follow the deeper aspects of electronic music finding peace with anything soulful melodic, techy and well deeep!
Coming back somewhat reinvigorated from Thailand the first track Pte released to labels was signed, to none less than the mighty Barouque Records....A clear step up into a bigger and allround brigther league the track was supported by many DJ's both UK and international. The track 'Entry Fee' found success on various charts and opened up doors with other labels and producers. A brief trip into minimal and releases on labels such as Fruit Records has proven time and time again he can make cutting edge dance music.
onwards: Sound design, sound design and sound design is the idea for 2013 for Pte. Hours and hours have been spent learning the inner working of synths and actually bringing to the table more than just drum loops and knob twiddling, a purist at heart Pte know nothing can be made without solid ingredients you'll start to notice the difference this year.... Watch this space, these beats are going to get interesting ;-)
Thanks to people that have helped me technically and inspired me Lev Olly and Alex (yep you make the best smileys), And thanks to everyone else who takes the time to listen to my music....
