Its already been a whirlwind start for Inflyte, as the remixes of Psycatron & Detroit Grand Pubah's "NVRSAYNVR" have rapidly romped up the sales charts. The reworks from Dustin Zahn and Unsubscribe (Dave Clarke & Mr Jones) have drawn impressive praise and already established the Irish label as one to watch. A tag further strengthened when you consider the artists already lined up on future releases; Secret Cinema, Francesco Tristano, Claude Young, Patch Park, Locked GROOVE, Nuno Dos Santos and more.
For Inflyte's latest instalment Paul & Dave look to an artist and friend, who has enjoyed their support from day one, Ian O'Donovan. Having first discovered the Irishman via a tweet by Laurent Garnier, and with Paul being the first Radio DJ to support his music on air, on his Across The Line show, a strong friendship was formed and further strengthened by playing many gigs together.
Ian's impressive range of styles and sound has enabled him to release his work on an equally wide spread of labels. His deeper strains can be heard on releases for Wolfskuil and Komplex de Deep, whilst his tougher and often epic productions have featured on labels such as Bedrock and Bio. His debut double-header for Inflyte sits firmly in the latter camp as "Ascension" and "Energy Wave" combine 'Detroit' synths and strings with imperious keys and bombastic baselines.
Fresh from celebrating the launch of his and Ben Sims' 'Machine' imprint, UK techno don Kirk Degiorgio takes time out to deliver yet another remix masterclass, with his rework of "Ascension." Whilst it would be pure folly to attempt a description, what we will say is that for us, its like being taking for trip along the edge of the atmosphere... special!
