About
I am ProjektOne, a Colchester based Bass heavy music DJ/producer. I have been DJing Drum and Bass since the age of 20 and also include a little bit of dubstep DJing to my bow (although my first love is Drum and Bass). Under my previous moniker of Mr Rayner I have appeared on the line up with some big names in the industry, such as Bassline Smith, Drumsound, Shy FX, Nicky Blackmarket, J Majik among others. I have really got my teeth into electronic music production over the last 2 or so years, even though I kinda experimented with it previously. I have a very varied music taste, and I hope this reflects in my music. I feel the best artists are the ones who listen to a wide selection of music as it gives you a bigger pool of resources to gain inspiration from. I tend to make music I like to hear, so if anyone else enjoys my creations that is fantastic. I endeavour not to pigeon-hole my tunes into any specific genre, because it then creates boundaries and limitations to the music I create. I would like to list a some of my influences to me here:
Icicle
Data
Benga
Ritchie Hawtin
Luke Vibert
Squarepusher
Dr Dre
Lee 'Scratch' Perry
Spectrasoul
Wu Tang Clan/RZA
Amon Tobin
Kanye West
Rockwell
Skream
Spirit
Noisia
Spor/Feed Me
Trentemoller
Digital Mystikz
This is not by any means a complete list, but more to give you an idea of what my stuff may sound like. I hope you enjoy some of my music and if you do, tell your friends about me.
Spread the word, spread the love.
Peace
Love this bit man... want a VIP of this!
Wicked freebie guys! Shouts to Lenzman and the Metalheadz crew. Always leading the way with fresh sounds
Big remix! I can't believe it's free!
Liking the beat man!
@Techtrikz: Think that was misinterpreted... shit = bad, THE shit = good!
Just got my copy of this... Slammer! Big ups Silent Code!
Abby, you have a great voice. I think you need to come and record vocals sometime at my place.
Absolutely love this track!
@Mixamatosis: This is a huge tune! The reason the idents and 'poor mastering' have been included are so that people won't rip the tracks and use them in their DJ set... Plus Noisia haven't sold out, it's merely a case of making music they enjoy, as with any decent producer out there...
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! Serum you know how to kill it!
