Professor Bang is a longtime DJ and veteran of the Bay Area rave scene. His record crates and flash drives are full of drum n’ bass, jungle, funk, soul, house, and more. He’s been at the controls in top clubs, forward-looking festivals, and sweaty undergrounds throughout California & the West Coast. During his decades-long career, Professor Bang has been a tireless collaborator: as a founding member of the Slayers Club collective, as one half of the West Coast jungle duo @ogkrush, and most recently as the DJ in the drum n’ bass duo LOUD TIME alongside legendary vocalist Audio Angel. In the studio, he has produced remixes for @the-flying-skulls, @nvomusic, and @amplive of Zion I. Shifting between formats and styles is a key aspect of Professor Bang’s creative life. His alter ego Dan B spent many years in the radio business, notably as one of the hosts of Subsonic on San Francisco’s Live 105, spinning cutting-edge electronic music on a major-market FM station. He is also an experienced instrumentalist, and currently plays drums in several rock bands.
