The Procession are a 4-piece alternative indie/rock band based in the Midlands, UK. The band formed while at university and started to make waves in the local midlands scene, cumulating in playing local festivals, supporting established acts, radio appearances, and appearing in several magazine articles. It was through winning BandForTheDay.com’s annual competition, beating off competition from over 600 worldwide bands, where their big breakthrough came. On the back of this they signed a record deal, and have spent much of 2010 recording their debut album in none other than Kasabian’s studio complex. Working with established industry professionals on their album has allowed The Procession to take a step up to the next level, and their debut album is much anticipated.
The Procession prides themselves on their varied and unique sound that stems from a no boundaries approach to writing. With all members coming from different backgrounds, and all of them contributing to the creative process, their songs tackle varied subjects from all corners of the emotional spectrum. Their music has been described as mixing experiences, attitude, feelings, and pain, and applying it with wit, charisma and fun, as well as, delivered with a passion and geniality that really takes the listener on a journey with them. The Procession are an accessible band with an edge.
Previews of the debut album have been well received already winning the acclaim of MTV’s Phil Clifton and XFM’s and 4 Music’s Pete Donaldson, "The combination of tunes really entices the listener into wanting more. It’s a ride through soaring choruses, meaty guitar riffs, via bare soul intimacy, and pretty refines, all packed with more hooks than you’ll find in Mariah Carey’s wardrobe!!"
