They didn't start the riot? Probably they did. Bringing some fresh air to Vienna’s club scene DJ/producer/promoter duo Pola-Riot has established the most unique club night in Austria’s capital hosting hotshot producers like Crookers, The Bloody Beetroots, Fake Blood, Yuksek, Foamo, Congorock, Mustard Pimp or Felix Cartal.
Pola-Riot themselves are known for their explosive DJ sets, blending electro and distortion disco, dubstep and fidget house, destined to make crowds freak out big time. Their prime gigs were at Austria’s main open air festival Frequency (twice; alongside Boys Noize and Diplo) as well as at Urban Art Forms, the country’s biggest festival for electronic music.
The two guys played festivals and venues all over Europe as well in the recent years. Pola-Riot’s body of work contain commissioned remixes for fellow countrymen like Amadeus Award winners Bunny Lake or Beta Bow (of "Second Streets Have No Name", which they later re-remixed with The Bloody Beetroots for their first album) as well as for artists from France (Underhall), USA (Greenskeepers) and Japan (Booty Bronx).
Their bootleg of Stardust's French house evergreen "Music Sounds Better With You" reached the No. 1 position on the HypeM charts. Their track "Superpimpin" got consecutive airplay on Kissy Sell Out's Radio 1 show, which earned them a signing on Tommie Sunshine’s new imprint Brooklyn Fire. Jack Fox from Ireland’s national broadcaster RTÉ even selected the track as the "No. 1 Tune Of 2009". The "What What" EP is out now on Mähtrasher/Traktor Records, featuring remixes from the likes of Hostage, Valerna and Super Super.
