About
--------------------------------
PlumbLyne is the music, media and performance of Jeremy Plumb- a multi talented west coast golden age inspired producer, DJ, poet and graffiti artist. Crafting selections with heart that are designed to move the body, call in the spirits and set the imagination ablaze. He rolls deep with digital crates- loaded with soulful tones, intricate percussion, and bass heavy abstract hip hop dipped beats. His live sets bypass cliches and lead the dance floor into an encounter with ancient and unknown regions of the psyche. He continuously works to harness healing frequencies and engages the live sound in many ways including with visionary spoken word poetry- he is a true performer with a careful understanding of aesthetics. The authenticity and energy of his passion for sound and image is infectious.
--------------------------------
He is a founder of the Portland Producers Meet Up, along with Danny Corn, Natasha Kmeto, Jim Cooke (Graintable) and Tyler Tastemaker.
--------------------------------
Past music projects include: The High Planes Drifters (band), Coyote Beat (live duo) and Peripheral (live 5 piece AV band).
--------------------------------
Originally from the SF bay he’s currently residing in Portland OR.
--------------------------------
Exploring many modicums of live music performance, he has collaborated with Nghiem Lam for many years to bring performance out of the club resulting in many works: Flora, a 9 ft tall solar powered robot installation with a PA system is built on a garden cart base and has been used in many public spaces. The Coyote Cart features an 8 ft tall custom welded golden coyote on top of an industrial bike trailer with a PA and a projector in the mouth that beams on to a separate 16 ft tall moon screen. And most recently, a 30x 30 ft base, 18 ft tall silver pyramid mobile solar performance venue that surrounds a cargo van built out of awning parts, conduit and tarping.
--------------------------------
The plumb line itself is an ancient tool first used to build the Egyptian pyramids. Indicating depth, it always points DOWN, toward the center of the Earth. It illustrates a relative truth.
