PLALP is the musical acronym of Miken Maji's Peace Love and Light Productions,
Miken has been surrounded with music his whole life, from a youth living outside of Kingston, Jamaica immersed in the 80’s sound of dub and early dancehall with yard Soundsystem’s deep bass pulsing thru. He was blessed to have spent time with many of reggae’s greatest musicians in the classic recording studios of Jamaica as a youth watching and getting inspired and that is where the heart of his music fundamental’s come from. 1 year after peter tosh was murdered Hurricane Gilbert came and mashed up JA so bad it still has not recovered economically so back to America to mix that early inspiration with living around outside of Boston Mass. and spending summers in away deep in the country hill’s of Squam Lake, NH created this balance of urban hip hop, industrial sound with the integration of nature organic ambient evolving music and flowing evolving jamming to the complex rhythms and timing of Jazz, bluegrass and Indian tabla, all of this coming together to form the sound of PLALP’s bass music Dig ital / anaLog stylz
