PKE is the moniker of musician Andrew Joseph Herrero when producing and releasing his compositions electronically. Born and raised in the suburbs of SW Miami, FL (U.S.A.), he began playing drums at the age of 8 followed by the guitar and bass at the age of 11, where he went on to play in numerous local outfits in the Miami local hardcore and rock scene while maintaining a seat with the University of Miami Youth Guitar Orchestra. Later in his career and after the dismantel of the Latin Pop Rock act he played bass for, The Mauxms, he decided to venture off on his own and finalized a slew of electronic music put together during late night/weekend writing sessions in between shows. These songs would come together in Feb of 2010 to form his first DIY release: A Typical Deviation and Re-Evolution in collaboration with Carnival Waste in earlier part of 2012. Currently, PKE remains active in the IDM/EDM music community in Miami, FL as well as venturing towards sound design and film scoring projects while continuing to play bass in the doom/stoner metal outfit, Nixa.
