I often feel that all I have in the world is a guitar.
Patrick Irwin emerged as a musician in the small, northern Virginia town of Winchester, playing various local venues and open Mic nights. In particular, he frequented "Below the Fringe" in Winchester's historic downtown district. After recording and releasing his EP "Jargon" in the summer of 2010 (With Brian Bayliss, Icon Records/Red Velvet Recording), Patrick moved south to the city of Richmond, hoping to claw his way into the much more prevalent music scene there. Though making a name for himself continues to be an arduous and frustrating process, as for many musicians in the early days of their career, he is determined and is continuously creating new original works to perform at whatever venues will have him, in addition to busking on an almost daily basis. He has collaborated with several musicians and is currently working on a second album focusing less on his forte, acoustic guitar work, and centering more attention on his more aggressive electric guitar style to show a diversity of skill and creativity. However, his enigmatic and moving lyrics and songwriting remain as the centerpiece of his music.
