About

Picnic Kibun (PK) is a jewel of musical globalization – a refreshing project of musical vanguardism originating from Chile, Japan and the USA. Musicians by day and DJs by night, PK have a dirty reputation for bringing sex to the dance floor. Best friends and musical partners since 2007, Tatsu Jones and Juan Necochea have been releasing bangers and dropping jaws - pushing Chile’s indie scene towards total deca-DANCE.

Tatsu was born in Japan, but he sings in the language of sex. Mixing English, Spanish and Japanese, his raps and falsettos fuse to create melodic daydreams. Necochea´s beats are notorious for being the nastiest and most seductive in all Patagonia. Together, their sound is a synthesis of Dream pop, Nu-Disco and Rave Rap.

Armed to the teeth with synthesizers, drums, guitars and controllers galore, their charisma knows no borders. Internationally celebrated for their live shows and DJ sets, PK pumps up the crowd every night like it’s New Year’s Eve.

Not only music lovers, but international brands and the media industry all want a piece of PK. PK has received great support by working with companies such as Elite Models and Valdivieso Champagne. Their music has been featured in MTV´s NIÑAS MAL, FTV’s TOMORROW´S TRACKS and in Chilean blockbusters such as QUE PENA TU VIDA and QUE PENA TU BODA.

In 2009, PK released their highly anticipated debut album, FIEBRE TAGADA. It was repeatedly praised as being one of the most exciting indie releases of the year by the mainstream media and countless music blogs.

PK is currently finishing up their sophomore album scheduled for release in early 2012. It will include collaborations with an All-Star cast including: Moustache!, Matanza, Barretso and New Kids on the Noise. Their first single, TAGANGA, is expected to shake the charts, and the album will set new standards for Panamerican electronic pop music.
