Starved for anything that would give life meaning.

The by:larm festival described Phone Joan as being a “ramshackle 70’s inspired orchestra”, a description the band likes, and enjoys throwing around.
However, it’s more about the blues than anything, really.
Whatever it is, it’s put through a “joan filter” of messy guitar and noise.
Their songs are quite simple, their lyrics are desperate and the sound is raw.
