phlox is a new recordlabel from austria, focusing on advanced electronica. Initiated by martin sovinz, hans platzgumer and gerhard potuznik. phlox will announce its first outputs in september 09. thus far we have been releasing under different monikers on labels like breakin, domino, matador, ersatz audio, cheap, disko b, thrill jockey, interdimensional transmissions, tigerbeat 6, mego and others.

phlox will be releasing vinyl and digital downloads. All our products - be it 12” or 10” records, mp3s, ogg vorbis or flac files - seek to emphasize the particular potential of the data carrier and set value on specific packaging, mastering and the overall musical and visual appearance. Avoiding any compromise, phlox will release music that we love and essentially feel like sharing with the audience.

right now we are exploring the wide and open fields of dubstep, but given the vast influences and background of our artists, the phlox community should always be prepared to join us exploring the unknown.
