When Kid A was being recorded, Phil was dissapointed with the turn Radiohead was taking going more towards electronic beats, synths, ect. This exposing him less and less in Radiohead, since most of the music is composed by Thom and Johnny. Familial could ressemble OK Computer, showing what Phil's contribution to Radiohead is really all about.

Nice tune....but I'm afraid that if this wasn't a member of Radiohead, it's nothing we haven't heard a million times before...and nobody would take notice.
